If you Have $5 and 5 minutes you can make these pillows. They are so easy and adding some new decorative pillows is an awesome way to update a space. All you need is
-A double sided placemat
-Polyfill, I didn’t feel like driving to Hobby Lobby so I took a cheap target brand pillow and took out the filling.
Ok guys this is so simple. Go to target or your favorite home goods store and buy a placemat, it doesn’t matter the size or shape but it does need to be double sided.
You will be able to tell it is double sided by pulling it apart like the pic below.
Get your Polyfill ready.
Next you want to cut a small slit in the back side of the case. Make sure you don’t cut any of the front. I used the mark left by the tag to show how long to cut. As a general rule you want to cut the slit just barely long enough to get your hand inside.
Ok almost done! Now just fill the case with Polyfill making sure to get the corners. Don’t over stuff it!
If you like to sew you can sew it but that is not necessary. Put a thin line of glue on the top side of the slit and add the ribbon, wait for it to dry and then make a thin line on the bottom and press the ribbon on top of the glue. Hold it in place of 2 minutes to let it set. All done! How easy was that?
Note: This works great for holiday pillows as well. It’s a super cheap way to spice up your holiday decorating game!
